Welcome to the Redheughers website.
The Redheughers Ceilidh Band is a long established country dance band co-operative, led and tutored by Robin Dunn. We meet, practise and play every Tuesday throughout the year. The band perform regularly, playing for Gateshead Ceilidh Club on the first Tuesday of each month, and also provide dance music and a caller for private functions.
We offer opportunities for people with some musical ability to:-
Appreciate and understand local dance music and dancing
Experience the discipline of playing together in a band
Develop skills and expertise in musical execution
Learn a wide repertoire of dance tunes, including jigs, reels, hornpipes, waltzes, two-steps and "fillers"
The Redheughers are available to play for parties, weddings and charity events. We provide everything for a super ceilidh - caller, band and sound equipment. We are a large band but can bring a smaller group to suit your venue and occasion.
