The Central Bar was very welcoming, but with some new members just wasnt big enough for our needs, so we needed to find a new venue; Our first practise at St Chads Community project was a great success. Sorry not to have my phone but we’ll get some photos next time!

We had a great time playing for the ceilidh, as the dancers were so enthusiastic – especially Robin and Rachael who were able to join in to make up numbers.
Delia’s funeral
Delia’s funeral 1 March 2024
On 1 March 2024 the Redheughers played music for the funeral of Dr Delia Wakelin. Delia was one of our longstanding , original band members, attending every session for over forty years until she began to suffer from a progressive debilitating illness. She was an excellent fiddle player and a kind, humorous and unassuming person, beloved by us all.

Jesmond festival Ceilidh
Jesmond festival Ceilidh
Well our ceilidh for Jesmond Festival was a real success. Tickets were sold out and we had almost 50 dancers (not counting a couple of “gate crashers” who joined us for one dance, attracted by our music). Everyone had a great time so we hope this will become a regular event.
